The journey of millionshirtmom started with the everyday life of a mom in rural Western Pennsylvania. Despite being a wife, mother of four, and running her own printing business, she felt a persistent urge to do something "more."
When her uncle was diagnosed with lung cancer at 54, she witnessed firsthand the gaps in the healthcare system. Even with health insurance many bills were not covered. Six months later her husband faced a kidney cancer diagnosis.
One sleepless night the idea of consecutively numbering t-shirts came to her. At 3am, the name "Million Shirt Mom" was born.
